Lecture on ‘Climate Change: Outcome of the COP 26 Meeting’ by Mr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia

Mr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia, the legendary economist, delivered an interactive session on ‘Climate Change: Outcome of the COP 26 Meeting’ on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 12:00 PM-1:00 PM. The session was in Flipped Mode – Mr. Ahluwalia had shared relevant reading material before the session.
Mr. Ahluwalia gave a summary of the lecture in the beginning and followed it up by Question and Answer session. The session helped the audience in understanding the climate crisis globally and outcomes of COP 26.
The 26th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 26) to the UNFCCC was held on 1-12 November 2021, in Glasgow, UK. The aim of the conference was:
- To finalize the Paris Rulebook (the detailed rules that make the Paris Agreement operational)
- To accelerate action to tackle the climate crisis through collaboration between governments, businesses, and civil society.
Mr. Ahluwalia and his colleagues have published two articles in “Mint” on 15th and 16th November 2021 and a research paper on the outcomes of COP 26 meeting.
