Prof Prosenjit Gupta

Professor Prosenjit Gupta received his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis (1995). Prior to that, he received his BTech (1989) and MTech (1991) degrees in Computer Science and Engineering, both from IIT Kharagpur.

Since receiving his doctorate, Prof Gupta has held various positions in academia and industry, including Max-Planck-Institut fur Informatik, Germany; International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad; Bell Laboratories at Murray Hill, New Jersey, USA; Delsoft, Kolkata; Cadence Design Systems, San Jose, California, USA; Mentor Graphics, Hyderabad; Yahoo! Bangalore and Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata.

He teaches courses in Algorithms, Data Structures, Computational Geometry, Discrete Mathematics, Theory of Computation, VLSI Design Automation, Web Intelligence.

Prof Gupta’s research areas of interest include Algorithms and Data Structures, Computational Geometry, Location Aware Applications, Web Intelligence and VLSI Design Automation. He has over 70 publications in various international journals and conference proceedings.

Prof Gupta consults in the areas of Web Intelligence and VLSI Physical Design Automation. He is a senior member of ACM.
