School leaders congregate for the information-driven Leadership Conference
The Educational Technology Area of NIIT University in association with Ahlcon International School hosted a conference on ‘information-driven leadership’ that was attended by around 25 highly placed and valued School Principals and Mentors from leading schools of Delhi and NCR. The day-long conference held on Saturday, December 14 at Ahlcon International School, Mayur Vihar, New Delhi was a landmark event, being the first in the series of conferences initiated by NIIT University on ‘School Leadership Imperatives in the Techno-Cognitive era.’ With the rise of ICT and the all-pervasive impact of technology, demands and expectations on school leaders have intensified and the one-day event focused on the importance of changing the leadership quotient in the background of the changing educational landscape.
The Conference was an enriching knowledge sharing forum and covered a range of topics from Brain leadership to Systems Model of Learning Engineering and Leadership Styles in the Techno-Cognitive era. The technological fluency of school leaders in organisational development and change management needs to be re-defined and this was the propelling theme of the Conference which reiterated that the game changer is presenting instruction as ‘interplay’ between teacher and learner and in preparing students for the real-world unprecedented challenges of the future.
NIIT University has the distinction of being the first University in India that provides a customised leadership programme for school educators. The transformational experiences of these school educators, who are presently students pursuing their MTech in Educational Technology at the University were also shared with the audience. The Principal of Ahlcon International School, Mr Ashok Pandey captivated the audience and guided them to the invigorating sessions that were taken by the erudite team of NIIT University represented by Founding Professor, Prof Vijay Mandke and Area Director, Educational Technology Area, Dr Shradha Kanwar. The Vice-President of NIIT University, Prof Parimal Mandke and other dignitaries present during the event expressed joie-de-vivre at the initiative that aims at transforming decision makers and strategic planners into educational visionaries.
